IN BOWL ENTERTAINMENT

Bringing the energy is go-to hype DJ Tony Perry. Perry is synonymous with Sport’s showpiece events having DJ’d for England football and England Rugby Six Nations amongst countless other blockbuster events. He has previously curated special match day mixes, including for the Rugby League World Cup back in 2021, and is ready to bring the Ashes party to Leeds with a new, unique mix for all ages.

Before kick-off we have Laura Wright to sing England’s National Anthem, setting the stage for the second test. Wright, one of the world’s leading classical artists, is no stranger to the world of Rugby League having performed at the Super League Grand Final for almost a decade. She has featured at numerous other major sporting events, including the recent NFL London series and the Invictus Games. Singing the Australian National Anthem is Australian-French mezzo-soprano Rebecca Hart.

Hosting the event is the voice of Rugby League, Pete Nuttall, who will be joined by Rich Williams who can be heard across Virgin Radio UK. Williams brings vast experience to the team having hosted various major sporting events, including the Rugby League World Cup and Women’s Euros.

Members of the Armed Forces Rugby League will deliver the 97-year-old Ashes trophy to the AMT Headingley pitch at 2:20pm, followed by the laying of wreaths by representatives of England and Australia as the teams emerge from the tunnel underneath the North Stand.

The Last Post will then be played by Cdt Jacob Gill, followed by one minute’s silence.

That will be followed by the National Anthems – with Rebecca Hart singing Advance Australia Fair, before Laura Wright sings God Save the King.

Members of the England Wheelchair team, who have returned this week from an Ashes-winning campaign in Australia in which they also wore the red Remembrance kit in the Second Test last weekend, will also be presented to the crowd.
